Difference between BBA and BBM?  

BBA and BBM are such courses which are confused by the students as to same but actually, they are different. We need to know the difference between both of them. There is a great difference in their course structure although they deal with something similar. Let’s help you with your confusion between both courses.

Difference between BBA and BBM : BBA

BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) is an undergraduate business management course.  The course is designed to provide a basic understanding of management education and to train the students in communication skills effectively which in turn inculcates entrepreneurship skills. They are trained in the management profession. This course actually prepares for the profession in a practical way through case studies, projects, presentations, etc.

Difference between BBA and BBM : BBM

Whereas BBM (Bachelor in Business Management) is also an undergraduate course that exposes students to a variety of subjects like accounting, finance, business laws and ethics, marketing, operation management, and research, etc. This course is developed to make students be well with management techniques that prevail in the corporate field. It is similar to BBA. Only the difference is that it is considered with business administration whereas BBM insists on business management.

Both of the courses are three-year courses divided into six semesters and the eligibility for both the courses is the same i.e. one has to be passed in 12 std. An examination from any stream and has secured 45% in 12 std. What differentiates both the courses from each other are the syllabus and the suitability of the course.

Difference between BBA and BBM  : Subjects that come under the course structure of BBA are:

  • Principles of management
  • Business mathematics and statistics
  • Business Economics
  • Introduction to operational research
  • Financial and management accounting
  • Business laws
  • Business data processing
  • Marketing management
  • Production and material management
  • Personnel management and industrial relations

All these subjects come under this course and are taught in the six semesters. The subjects allow us to get employed in various fields such as business houses, financial organizations, banks, educational institutes, export companies, industrial houses, multinational companies, etc.

Therefore, such fields make a BBA student involve him/herself in a lot many things. The course, therefore, proves to be a beneficial one because this course develops various managerial skills in the students thereby enhancing their decision-making capability and sharpening their communication skills.

Difference between BBA and BBM : Subjects that come under the course structure of BBM are:

The subjects that come under this course are somehow similar to the subjects taught to a BBA student. But some subjects vary which includes

  • Accounting
  • Office management
  • E-commerce
  • Income tax
  • Business analysis, etc.

The most important difference in both of the courses is that of accounting. BBM course exposes students to accounting which is not a part of the BBA course. This is the very difference between both of the courses.

Whereas with BBM course we have various suitabilities for the students.This course builds up a large number of skills such as organizational skills, critical thinking and analytical skills, logical decision-making skills and oral communication skills. Also, this course opens up job opportunities for the students in various fields such as trade, retail, distribution, hospitality, chartered accountancy, business accountancy, law and tax and finance and consultancy.

Every course has in itself something important to teach the students. The courses like BBA, BBM develops any kind of skills in students that are beneficial for all kind of jobs whether it be teaching or having an owned business. The skills developed while pursuing such courses can create various job opportunities suitable for all kinds of students.

Both of the courses are somehow similar to each other but the difference they carry within each other is what makes them different from each other. The students must not get confused with any of the courses.
