K.A.S is organized by Kashmir Public Service Commission. The eligibility criteria of the candidate for Kashmir Administration services are as follow- Candidate minimum age should be 21 years and maximum should be 35 years. The candidate should have the citizenship of India and completed graduation from any recognized college or university. The exam is conducted in three tiers. First is preliminary examination, second is main examination and final is personality test or we say personal interview. To know more about KAS visit on the website http://www.kpsc.kar.nic.in.

In the first tier of the KAS preliminary exam consists of two papers. Paper-I (GS) general studies of total 150 marks and Paper II optional subjects of total 300 marks. In General studies, we cover Indian Culture and History of Modern India, Geography of India, India and the World, Current National issues and the Constitution of India and Indian Polity, and topics of social relevance, India’s Economic Interaction with the World, International Affairs and Institutions, Developments in the Field of Science & Technology, IT and space) Statistical analysis, graphs and diagrams. Paper II comprise of optional subjects depend on whatever you choose like Botany, Chemistry, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Geography, Geology, Electrical Engineering, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Indian History, Law, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Mechanical Engineering, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology Candidates can also have option to choose Literature of one of these following languages: English, Hindi, Kashmiri, Arabic, Dogri, Persian, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Urdu. While in selection of Jammu and Kashmir Police Service, candidates should be a local resident of the State. Three year age relaxation in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during fighting with any foreign country or in any terrorism area. Candidates who belonging to Scheduled Tribes/ Scheduled Castes / Socially and Educationally Backward Classes are getting advantage of age relaxation limit is 37 years.

KAS is a Kashmir administrative services exam that is given in Jammu and Kashmir state in India for various State Government services exams.

The Kashmir Administrative Service KAS is the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir's administrative civil service. The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission recruit’s officers for this position using a test known as the KAS examination.

After serving as a KAS officer for a specified period, the selected candidates (KAS officers) are promoted to the IAS officer ranks of District Collector (commonly known as Deputy Commissioners) and take up various administrative posts at the district level, such as Sub Divisional Magistrate or Additional Deputy Commissioners. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is in charge of the promotion process and making decisions.

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission KASwas established in 1954, when the state had no formal recruiting agency. Between 1954 and 1957, it was established under section 128 of the J&K State Constitution.

KAS officers (civil administrators) are government officials who carry out key operations in their departments while working at the state or district level. The majority of departments in J&K are led by either an IAS or a KAS officer. The officers are in charge of public relations and are in charge of reducing corruption. The officers are also in charge of district-level internal security, maintaining law and order, and establishing infrastructure for all areas of everyday operations in their respective districts or divisions.

Applicants for the JKPSC must be residents of Jammu and Kashmir on a permanent basis.

Age limit for kas Kashmir administrative service is as follows

o   To sit for the JKPSC test, the applicant must be at least 21 years old and under 35 years old.

o   SC, ST, and OBC people can be up to 37 years old.

Prelims

The preliminary examination consists of two objective-based tests. Students must pass preliminary exams in order to sit for the mains test, and the preliminary exam scores are used to narrow down the applicants who will be allowed to sit for the mains exam.
