Industrial engineering is all about designing and managing methods and procedures to increase productivity , qaulity and efficency in manufacturing process. The increasing complexity of industrial operations , expansion of automated processes in factories and offices is contributing to the increasing demand of industrial engineers. Industrail engineers are hired by manufacturing units to take care of their manufacturing processes, engineering consultancy services , public sector industries like petroleum, steel and chemical, medical & pharmceutical organizations, textile industry, telecommunication companies , consumer electronics manufacturers & IT companies . The work areas of industrail engineers incvlude but not limited to quality control, statistical proces control, productability , motion economy and research and development.



To become an industrail engineer , one should complete 12th with physics, chemistry & maths. After completion of 12th , an aspirant has to pass an entrance test such as JEE Main/ Advanced for seeking admission in B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering. To improve job propsects and high status job it is stronly recommended that one should always go for M.Tech Industrial engineering or M.Tech Engineering, Design & Manufacturing Engineering or M.Tech industrial Engineering & Operational Research or MBA Industrial Engineering & Management. To teach or puruse resaerch one can go for PhD. Some of the top institites like IITs are offering this course.
