MBBS degree is required to become a physician in allopathic medicine. It is 4.6 years programme followed by a year of rotating internship. The 4.6 years of class room study is divided into three phases of 18 months. The career as general physician is very rewarding for those interested in science and dealing with treating sick people. This profession requires alot of hard work but at the same time gives tremendous satisfaction of curing patients from sickness and making life better and easier for them, The admission to MBBS course is based on the performance of aspirant in all India medical entrance examination i.e. NEET. The student must have completed class 12 with subjects physics, chemistry , Biology and English to appear for an entrance examination
. Self employment is the most popular option for doctors, although government hospitals as well as privately owned multi specialty hospitals and nursing homes are offering lucrative openings. Doctors can also work for business organizations, industries , schools and embassies as consultants. They can also find employment with armed forces. Aspirants having strong aptitude for teaching and research can join medical colleges as researcher or faculty. However to improve career prospects it is always recommended that one should go for post graduate studies in medicine
