Hello

Thank you for choosing CareerGuide.com and writing to us.

Photographers are of many types and they receive pay according to their types of photography, skill and expertise. As a fresher the pay range may be anywhere from Rs 10000 to Rs 50000 a month. Prices are fixed as per the type of photography. In general wildlife photography, adventure photography receive high critical acclaim and money. These photographers work for scientific industries or the media or education industries. One good example will be the Discovery channel or the National geographic channel. Photographers on their work assignments to these media outlets generally receive a good or more reasonable pay among the freshers. It could be expected that their pay range may be above Rs 25000 per month. But these roles also come up with increasing challenges for the photographer. The photographer needs to attend the spot and sail through any difficulties that the nature/weather may cause him. He also needs relevant training to be safe with wildlife and adventurous spots.

other segments of photography yield a reasonable pay for starters ranging from 12000 to 15000 INR a month. Segments include fashion photography, events photography and journalism photography. These photographs work on day or week assignments allocated to them by the company. They may be either paid as per the number of assignments they take a month or just receive a fixed pay over all.

Candid photography is a recent revolution in personal photography business. Candid photographers capture emotions and happiness at every detail and weddings, birthdays and other personal ceremonies are these photographers spots. These photographers either work as a trainee for some expert candid photographers or just start freelancing on their own. If being worked under an expert as a trainee, they could get any where from 10000 to 15000 per assignment or receive a fixed pay of 15000 per month and coordinate all the assignments that come up in that month. However if freelancing, these photographers really need to prove they can produce quality work. They need to maintain a high quality portfolio before approaching customers to take orders. If there is a freelancing order given to them, they usually charge around 25000 plus per assignment and the further pay largely depends on the number of hours and number of photographs the photographer aims to produce.

I hope this helps. Thanks.
