Global research and development in progress in the field plastic technology indicate that future opportunities for plastics are from biomass and other renewable resources. Thus plastic manufacture will become even more sustainable in the years to come. Plastic engineers take apart raw materials such as coal, tar, coal, petroleum, wood, natural gas and salt and then rearrange their molecules to make synthetic materials.Aspirants of plastic technology can pursue BTech program in plastic/ polymer technology or can take up MTech in plastic technology after MSc in chemistry or physics.




There are numerous long and short term diploma courses in plastic technology as well. If someone is keen to pursuea career as plastic technologist he needs to have scientific bent of mind, inquisitive mind, long concentration span, excellent observation skills, good numerical ability , above average intelligence, keen interest in physics and chemistry and mechanical aptitude. Advanced courses requires a high degree of academic ability,good imagination , an analytical mind, resourcefulness, problem solving nature and keen interest in technological development.
