Hi

Psychologists are the professionals who study and conduct researches on human behavior by understanding the psychological aspects. So to understand the psychology of a person one needs to go through so many changes personally or should have certain aptitude to pursue this profession.

1)Listening ability

One should have excellent listening power to understand clients. If he/she is a restless person then psychology is not his forte.Any body who loves to listen to people and understand them thoroughly is the right person for this profession. This is the most important trait one should have if he/she wants to take up psychology as a profession.

2)Patience

They say" Patience always pays".So this is a profession of patience. One needs to have extraordinary patience to understand and listen to the people.Communication is the heart of this profession and to get better communication from the client( is the raw material which a psychologist needs to work on ) a psychologist needs to have a lot of patience.

3)Excellent Communication Skills

Communication is the most important aspect of psychology.Clients who come for the treatment are in their own world. A lot of inner turmoil is going on in side them.If we want him to open and express his/her problem we need to know which question to ask ,so that the client feels free to express.According to the age of the client communication should happen and it is possible only with knowledge and expertise.

4)Mental and Physical fitness

One should be able to maintain calm, come what may while dealing with the clients.Emotions have no place in this profession because emotions put you off the track. One should be able to convince clients to open more and more so that treatment becomes easy.

5)Never stop learning

One should have the hunger to learn more and more and keep up with the recent updates and implement them for better results.Learn various theoretical and practical aspects of Psychology recently developed and use them.
