Below is the list of subjects in the Chartered Accountancy course of ICAI:
Common Proficiency Test (CPT)
Common Proficiency Test is an objective type examination of 200 questions with 1 mark each. It has four subjects for study. Desired level of knowledge is Basic Knowledge. There is negative marking of 25% for wrong answers. Blank answers fetch zero marks and correct answers fetch one mark.

Session I:Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting 60 MarksSection B: Mercantile Laws 40 Marks
Session II:Section C: General Economics 50 MarksSection D: Quantitative Aptitude 50 Marks

Here are the subject details for the whole CA course step by step:-
CPT- Common Proficiency Test
This is the first exam of CA course. It is a qualifying exam. This is the objective type examination of 200 questions carrying 1 mark each. There is negative marking system so for every 4 wrong answers 1 mark will be deducted from marks scored.
In CPT there is one paper(200 Marks) divided in two sessions of 2 hours for each session. The Subjects are as follows:-Session I1.Section A- Fundamentals of Accounting- 60 Marks2.Section B- Mercantile Laws- 40 Marks
Session II3.General Economics- 50 Marks4.Quantitaive Aptitude - 50 marks
IPCC- Integrated Professional Competency Course
In IPCC there are 2 groups and the subjects for each group are as follows-
Group I1.Accounting- 100 marks2.Business Laws,Ethics and Communication- 100 marks3.Cost accounting and financial management- 100 marks4.Taxation - 100 marks
Group II1.Advanced Accounting - 100 marks2.Auditing and Assurance - 100 marks3.Information Technology and Strategic Management- 100 Marks.
CA Final
CA Final also consists of two groups and the subjects of the group are as follows-Group I-1.Financial Reporting - 100 Marks2.Strategic Financial Management- 100 Marks3.Advanced Accounting and Professional Ethics- 100 marks4.Corporate and Allied Laws- 100 marks
Group II1.Advanced Management Accounting-100 marks2.Information Systems and Control Audits- 100 marks3.Direct Tax Laws- 100 marks4.Indirect Tax Laws- 100 marks
