What to do? I am completely disoriented and depressed.

What to do? This has become one of the toughest question for me. I just don't know what I have done, what I am doing and what I am goong to do. I have completed my B.tech (ECE) from not a very good institute (I.T.S. Engineering College, Greater Noida). They were unsucssful in providing any good placement to ECE students. Now I am going for PG programme but I have no idea where I should go. I think I should go for MBA but I dont know if that would be fruitfull or not. Kindly help me out. I am feeling depressed amd I think, in near future I wont be able to survive in this competitive world.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greeting's for the day!!!
Its good that you are concerned about your career and that's why you are seeking Career Counselling.

As you have completed Btech (ECE), it is advisable to go ahead with same field.
ECE has tremendous demand right now in the market. Companies like TCS are hiring students is large proportions. Not even this many companies in the south as well as in the north are hiring students with ECE majority. As communication sector is booming upto many years, demand of ECE Professional shall remain still.

It doesnt always depends upon the college from where you have completed your Qualification but also depends on your own ability.

There are 2 Options available after completing BTech in Electronics and Communication.

1. Take up a Job:
There are many good opportunities for jobs available after completing Btech (ECE). One can start a career by entering into State Government Dept jobs. To get a Job in the Government Sector, one has to qualify in the written test conducted by State Public Service Commission.

There are many opportunities in the Central Government Departments like Defence, Railways, All India Radio, Airport Authority of India, Post & Telegraph, Indian Engineering Services etc. One can get a job in Central Government departments by qualifying in the tests conducted by "Union of Public Service Commission (UPSC)and Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

There are many private companies that recruit engineers in Btech (ECE). some of them are Reliance, Nokia, Tata, LG, Wipro etc...

2. Higher Education:
If you pursue further studies and specialize in particular subject, you can earn more salary. It will also give you an advantage during the interviews. Higher studies will make you confident, and of course help you build in depth knowldege of the subject.

Some of the universities offering MTech(ECE) are IIT Guwahati, fow which candidates have completed their BE.Btech (ECE) and need to give GATE Entrance Examination.

Some of the institutes are:
1. IIT Guwahati.
2. Indian Schools of Mines University (ISMU)
3. Jaypee University of IT, Himachal Pradesh.
4. Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

Further doubts or queries feel free to contact.
