The job of a reporter is vast and you need to be excel in many fields. So while you are undergoing your college graduate right from the first year you should start preparing yourself for the job of a reporter which will be beneficial to you in the long run.

Firstly, you need to strengthen your writing and reading skills, so to do so i suggest that you start reading the newspaper regularly which will help you develop your vocabulary as well as improve your reading fluency. Everyday write at-least 500 words on especially social topics so that you develop the writing skill and this will also help you in forming better mature sentences.

Secondly, Be observant and keep yourself very alert, try and capture small things around you in form of photographs and write ups. Read other reporters write ups and articles which will help you build the base for it.

Thirdly, be social participate in college events, unions and fests this will boost the confidence in your own self and bring out the team leader working skill.

Lastly, if possible attend concerts and events happening in town so that you learn to tackle the crowd.
