Since you have been a student of Bachelor of Arts, you may find it difficult to jump in to the Information Technology world directly. However, you may reach there through your skills and and experience. It would be advisable for you to go through the information below in order to get yourself aware about the information technology sector.


Most of the big companies prefer candidates who have engineering degree or at least B.C.A. or M.C.A. for the various positions. With the kind of educational background that you have it would be difficult for you to get hired in them straight away. Therefore you need to target the smaller companies, at very small level. Your pay scale will also be lesser at this point of time. But once you gain the expertise in this field and the relevant work experience you can apply for the bigger roles in various companies. The most important thing in this case will be your learning during the first job or the initial period of your professional career. You need to develop the right skills. Need to learn the languages and the tools in order to provide your valuable contribution. Gain expertise in one or two areas. That would be very helpful.

Other option that you can opt for is to go for post graduation diploma in the same field. That will help you learn more things and build the larger knowledge base and therefore add more value to your profile. After that you can apply for the IT jobs and hence get a better salary package. But again your first job experience is going to matter a lot. Therefore be careful while going for your first job. Do not go for a better salary offer but for an opportunity where learning is most. That would be helpful for you in the long terms.

Once you have enough experience and expertise with the above mentioned educational qualifications, you can start applying for various I.T. companies and hence make your dream come true.
