6) K.G Somaiya College of engineering.

7) Ramdeobaba College of engineering.
Again situated in Gittikhadan area of green city Nagpur, the college is one of the most sought after institutions in Vidarbha. It is an autonomous college permanently affiliated to RTMNU Nagpur University. According to the NIRF ranking 2017, the College was ranked number 1 status amongst private colleges in Maharashtra.
8) VIT Pune
The institute was started in 1983 and got its autonomous status in 2008. The college offers robust engineering program in nearly all the fields of engineering. The college has collaborated with Ontario University Canada for its student exchange program.
9) Government college of engineering Amravati.
Situated in education hub of Vidarbha, the institute is one of the oldest colleges in Vidarbha region. The institute was started in 1963 and got its autonomous status in 2008. The admissions to the institute are based upon MHTCET score. The college is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.
10) Walchand college of engineering Sangli.
The institute was started in 1947 and renamed as Walchand College of engineering in 1955. The college got its autonomous status in 2007. The institute strives for its research program and state of art meritorious faculty and infrastructure.
Procedure for getting admission into engineering colleges in Maharashtra
Maharashtra conducts a huge examination called Maharashtra common entrance test MHT CET for getting admission into its engineering courses. The test is conducted mainly in the month of May or a month and a half after 12th board examinations are over. Based upon merit score and category wise cutoffs, students will have to opt for various rounds after which they are allotted colleges according to their preference.
For getting admission to IITs student will have to opt for JEE Mains and JEE advanced. Nearly 2 lakh students will be selected through JEE mains that will have to again appear and qualify JEE advance examination.
As far as NITs are concerned, until now the admissions were based upon AIEEE score. But now onward, the admissions to NITs will be based upon JEE mains score.
