Dear Friend

Thank you very much for approaching CareerGuide.com. First of all I congratulate you for such academic success in engineering and technology and all set to go for higher degree. Though you have not mentioned the name of your studied course and institution, if you are alumni of IIT then my humble suggestion to you to approach your professor there only those are having brilliant collaborations internationally and then seek the recommendation from them as per the guidelines, in any case if you are from any other prestigious institute from Indian even then do the same thing and seek the help of your mentors first. If it does not work due to certain reasons then follow the steps structurally which I will discuss in the next paragraph below. Keep updating yourself to make a clear picture in terms of your future course work, as you mentioned which course work should I opt abroad? Try to analyse your studied course contents at bachelor level where your teacher and you must have discussed the implementation part as per the performed dissertation work in final year. Take a long route for the same research theme and explore the relevant stream will be a better option.

To fly abroad you need to do the following things:

1. GRE/TOEFL/ ILETS: you must be knowing about GRE and TOEFL which are mandatory to qualify to find the gateway for United States of America, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, and many other countries. Explore the authantic resource agencies those are offering you to facilitate online test based on registration and processing charges, they have other soft tools for training purposes, you are advised to contact them. you will find many names so be serious about the authenticity by knowing its affiliations internationally. As these test are not only for obtaining the certificate and flag to get an exit rather you have to score highest, so be prepared for that first.
2. Once you obtain the GRE or TOEFL then make your application stuff acceptable with the set benchmarking of internationally, professionally and academically recognised. If not possible on your behalf then approach the trained professional or look for the help from your professors and senior friends.

Hope you will be able to crack the success with your immediate action.

Best !

Hello

Thank you for choosing Mera career guide and writing to us. I appreciate your interest in studying abroad. I can be of good help in this query. You have mentioned that you are a BTech CSE graduate and you have passed out in 2012. May I know what was your percentage in BTech? And are you working since 2012? Even though if you are at work, you should have gained less than two years of work experience by now and think an MBA wouldnt suit you at this stage instead studying an MSc Computer Science will be very apt for you. So, you can choose to study a Masters degree in either CSE or Information management abroad.
Choosing to study abroad requires to follow a step by step process.

  1. First choosing what course you want to study - As said a MSc CSE or Information technology and management would be apt for you.
  2. Choosing the country of study: You should think of where do you want to study abroad, i.e. in which country. The most common destinations for Indian students are the USA and the UK. Other than this students are also increasingly flooding to Singapore, Australia, Canada and some parts of Europe like Germany and Sweden. If you are too much confused about choosing the country then go to step three,
  3. Filter universities by ranking. The only legitimate website that offers the world ranking university table is the QS World rank university table. If you go on this website, you can see the overall university ranking in the world from 1-500 and as well as the subject ranking from 1-100. Based on this you can apply to the top sets of universities. If you would like to be a part of top ranked university, it also means that you require a minimum of 85% and above in your BTech. The very top universities usually select students with a 85% in their undergraduate and also make sure the students get a 325 in GRE and as well as 120 in TOEFL/ or 7.5 in IELTS. If you have not got a 85% in your BTech then it is advisable to not try for top universities and instead choose to apply to medium rank universities.
  4. So now, if you have chosen to study in the USA , Canada or Singapore - GRE and TOEFL are mandatory exams. You can register for the GRE exam visiting the website www.ets.org/gre I myself registered for my GRE exam only on this website and it is authentic with no doubt. Please register for GRE prior to three months of your exam date to give yourself enough time to prepare for the exam. Your GRE score percentile is also mandatory while you want to study in the USA. Next, you should register for TOEFL online by visiting their website, www.ets.org/toefl Try giving yourself at least 2-4 weeks to do good preparation for the final test. With GRE and TOEFL, you are qualified to apply for admissions in the USA, Singapore and Canada.
  5. If you want to study in UK, Australia or else where IELTS is alone mandatory. You can telephone your local British council to register for an IELTS test and with this test you can seek for admission in UK, Australia or anywhere. These countries do not demand a GRE. Hope this helps. Good luck.
