  1. The physician diagnose and treat diseases and perform a vital role in looking after the well-being of community. Thorough knowledge of diseases and their symptoms are required for diagnosis and treatment. The physician first compile a clinical history of the patient before they make a diagnosis. They use several techniques and apparatus in their examination in order to form an image of the disease or injury. It is important that all factors are taken into consideration before a diagnosis is made. Treatment can be medical, surgical and therapeutic. With the super specialty hospitals and clinics emerging in India as well abroad, the demand for skilled medical professionals is constantly increasing.
  2. To do well in this profession one must love working with people and have keen interest in their well being. He must be emotionally well balanced , patient , tactful and calm. He must have good physical stamina as this profession demands working for long and irregular hours.He must be a good decision maker , responsible and have the ability to work under a great deal of pressure. He should have high IQ, scientific temper , good memory , the ability to integrate knowledge from various sources, keen observation and quick interpretation. He should have high concentration , manual and finger dexterity.
