Homeopathy is a system of medicine in which a drug and disease that produce similar symptoms cancel each other out in some way thereby restoring the patient's to health. Homeopaths are trained to view patients holistically and to apply treatment according to the individualneeds, reactions and modalities of patients. Homeopaths take detailed case history of their patients and do a physical examination then make a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate homeopathic medicines

. In homeopathy remedy is chosen based on the symptoms as well the characters and temperament of the patient. To excel in this profession aspirant must love working with people and have an interest in their well being. They must be emotionally balanced, patient, calm and tactful..They must be able to work fast ,accurately and make decision. The ability to take crucial decision, self motivation, amiable and sympathetic temperament are of utmost importance. They are also expected have a strong sense of responsibility as the patient's life depends on them,After 12th with with physics, chemistry and biology , a student can do an undergraduate programme in homeopathy. The duration of bachelor of homeopathy medicine and surgery is 5.5 years including internship. Whereas the duration of diploma in homeopathy medicine and surgery is 4 years.
