After B.E. in I.T. ...which is better Mtech or MBA

I am software developer , completed B.E. in I.T. 2012 passout. I have 1 yr of experience as software developer. To further enhance my career I am confused to choose whether to go for MBA or Mtech ? most importantly I am confused to be on managerial or technical field. And also to be PART TIME OR FULL TIME.. I took meracareerguide Psychometric test which scored 6.4 . Nothing I came to know from that score . is there anything else that can help me ? in judging between mba or mtech ? Another question , Mtech is good or MCA ? (As I have done B.E. )

Interesting....

Firstly would like to congratulate you on your interests in terms of making a career and finding means and ways to achieve it.

At this stage an Aptitude tests will not be of much help, since Aptitude tests will not be able to guide you whether you are a technical or an management person. It will just point out your strengths in terms of aptitude towards Science and technology, which I am sure you are good at because of your technical expertise or graduation.

Now this is the time for self introspection. While doing your engineering, did you like the hands on job. Would you like to further it and be the creator, rather than being the commander in charge.

That is where the difference lies in terms of M.Tech or MBA.

Once you pursue M.Tech, you would be the master in terms of technical expertise. You would be the person to do hands on job in your field, like making a machine parts, experimenting and so on. Whereas an MBA would make you a commander in the organization. You would be the one to guide people or your team towards manufacturing of a product.

Never the less, after few years of work, you would anyways be promoted to the senior position, whereby guiding the juniors towards the end product. At the same time, you would be involved in the technical detailing.
At that juncture you could opt for an MBA program to enhance your career.

Now the choice is yours. Where exactly is your comfort zone.
Decide wisely.

Wish you good luck...........
