Hello Maheen,
Due to the rise in awareness about mental health and fitness regimes, these days people are open towards counseling.
And even corporates these days includes stress reliving sessions which are conducted by counselors and the likes.
Thus the scope of psychology has expanded from hospitals and clinics to all areas right from schools to corporates to sports to any field you could think of.
But to be successful in this field, a counselor needs to be well equipped with not only therapies and testing or assessments but other modes of treatment right from alternate medicines to meditation to hypnosis to NLP to play therapy to career counseling etc.
After 12th, you could opt for a BA in Psychology a 3 years graduation course. Follow it up with a masters degree in any specialisation of your choice either in Clinical or Counseling or Social or Industrial or guidance and counseling.
