The typical day of an Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer is spent in following fashion.

  • Checking the emails and conducting the project meeting so that planning can be done accordingly.

  • They immediately get to their work after the meetings and start the day's course of action.

  • They have to do a lot of design work. Instrument design, wiring diagrams, specifications etc.

  • They do the analysis of the electronic instruments they are working on.

  • Sometimes they also work on the project cost estimation, forecast of budget and resource allocation. This is only done by the Engineers with good amount of experience.

  • They provide day to day instructions to the technicians, drafters and junior Engineers.

  • They work on the assignments on daily basis and assign the work to their juniors while keeping an eye on their progress.

  • They analyze reports and send it across to the clients and their seniors.

  • They work on engineering and design computer software for creating the workflow and implementations.

  • The work often gets hectic. They have to supervise the people as well and ensure that project is on the track.
