Homeopathy is a system of medicine in which a drug and disease that produce similar symptoms cancel each other out in some way thereby restoring the patient's to health. Homeopaths treat patients by stimulating the body's own healing powers with natural remedies. They understand that the body, mind and emotions are not really separate and distinct, but are actually fully integrated. Based on this perspective, homeopaths seek natural remedies which fit all of a patient physical and psychological symptoms. They are trained to view patients holistically and to apply treatment according to the individual needs, reactions and modalities of patients. They take detailed case history of their patients and do physical examination then make a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate homeopathic medicine.

A homeopath should be versatile, able to work independently and have well developed sense of responsibility , since the work involves human health and lives. They should be emotionally well balanced, have clarity of mind and scientific objectivity .
