Overview
- An individual hired to take care of the passengers aboard a ship, aeroplane, or train is known as a steward. Restaurants, hotels, cruise ships, clubs, banquet halls, railroads, resorts, etc. are some of the places where people work.
- A steward helps keep a bar, restaurant, or lounge hygienic and clean, aids with dishwashing, and attends to patrons’ needs.
- The steward may also carry out fundamental administrative duties including taking reservations, answering the phone, and dispensing essential information.
- The steward will cater to patron needs, support wait staff, make sure all stations are stocked, and help maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout the establishment.
- You must be willing to put in a lot of effort and have the physical stamina to remain active during your shifts if you want to succeed as a steward.
- Customers should find you to be welcoming and helpful, and you should be good at working in a team.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Cleaning, setting the tables, and adding tablecloths, candles, and seasonal accents.
- Welcoming clients, seating them, refilling their glasses with water, and bringing drinks from the bartender.
- Maintaining orderly menus and displaying them to clients.
- Assisting the wait staff with all facets of service and stocking the serving stations of the wait staff with napkins, utensils, trays, and condiments.
- Clearing the tables and getting them ready for the following clients.
- Helping with cleaning, opening, and closing duties.
- Removing food remnants from soiled pots, pans, plates, glasses, and flatware before cleaning and putting them away.
- Helping to clean the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and polishing.
- Moving used linen between the laundry and housekeeping departments.
- Assisting with stock storage and unloading.
