An IAS officer is responsible for maintaining law and order in his/ her area of jurisdiction, administer the whole revenue flow, supervise the successful implementation of policies, supervise whether public funds are being managed properly or not, whether the funds are being used for the purpose, and they also play a major role in framing of a particular policy. An IAS officer’s job role is not definitive, and it may change as per the current need of the area they are administering. The job is transferrable, and they are trusted to bring an administrative change in their area of power.
