Hi Neil,

To become a judge first of all you will have to be a graduate in LLB.

The students from any stream can take up the LLB course. After completing your 10+2 class from any stream you’ll have to give CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) entrance exams for doing the LLB.
For appearing in the CLAT entrance exam you must have completed 10+2 class with a minimum of 50% marks and the age of the aspirant should be more than 20 years.

In CLAT examination questions will be asked from Legal aptitude, logical reasoning, English, elementary mathematics and General Knowledge.

After completing graduation in Law you will have to give the Judicial Service Exam. This is a state level exam and conducted by the respective state governments.

To be eligible for this exam you must have to pass all the exams of LLB in first attempt and also you must have secured minimum of 55% marks in the LLB degree, but the eligibility criteria can also vary from one state exam to another. The exam consist of three phases Preliminary exam, Main exam and Viva Voice.
