I have finished my 10th standard, What should I do from now to become a successful air force pilot?

I have finished my 10th standard, I know I have to opt for science stream +2 education and focus on maths and physics, and after 12 I have to go for NDA. How should I start preparing now? Is there any need, If yes? then how? How can I hit the nda competitive exams?

Hello Harsh,
Welcome to CareerGuide.com smile
Thanks for proposing your query to us.

Well Harsh that's really a very interesting question that you have asked ,because often students just appear for the competitive exams without thinking of how to prepare for these examinations. They often appear these examinations blindly resulting into failure.
National Defence Academy (NDA) Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year for the candidates who are aspiring to make their career in the Defence Filed i.e Army,Navy or Air Force. This exam is one of the tough exam which needs a very step - by -step preparation in order to enter into the Defence Sector.

Students who are in the Std 12th. can appear for the NDA exams. If one is aspiring for to join Indian Navy or Indian Air Force than the students must be from Science background having Physics and Maths as the Subjects; for Army the student can be from any stream. The Candidates appearing for the NDA exam should be between the age 16 1/2-19 years. The candidate should be unmarried.

These exams are conducted twice in a year i.e April-May and Sept-Oct.

Before appearing for these examinations one should always study the syllabus and pros and cons about the same.So hereby i am providing you the exam pattern and the syllabus and some strategies to crack the NDA exam.

-Scheme of NDA examination-
1.Mathematics (objective Type)- 300 Marks -Duration:-2 1/2 Hour
2.General Ability Test (objective Type)- 600 Marks- Duration:-2 1/2 Hour.(This include English and G.K)
The total marks of written exams are 900 marks.

Note:There is negative marking for each wrong answer.

After clearing the Written exam you have SSB Interview of 900 Marks.

So this was all about the Pattern of Exam. Now we will some of the tips that will help you to crack the exam.

When it comes to study one should follow these things.
1.Schedule your days work and prepare a proper time table how much time and when you will be giving time for NDA exam preparation studies. And do follow the time table everyday.
2.The main basis of studies of NDA exam is all the Basics of Maths,Physics and English that you have learned in your school so be perfect with your basics. You can start to study the books of these subjects from std.4th-10th. And become perfect with the basics.
3.Check out which subjects are good of yours and try to make them perfect them because if you perfect them than you can work with the subjects that are hard for you and you don't need to bother for the same.
4. For G,K you can listen to the News Channels and also do an extensive reading of Newspapers etc. which will improve your both G.K and also English part.
5.Solve the previous years NDA exam papers this will give you an idea of the exam pattern. One thing i will suggest you here is when you are in your 11th give an attempt to NDA exam because this will give all the idea of the examination and all your fear intensity would be dwindled.
6. Have a proper time management for solving the papers.
For example while solving paper you can put a watch and attempt a question and after solving the question write the time you have taken to solve the question and in this way you can keep a track about the time to solve the questions and also for each section the time taken by you. And solve those questions first of which you know the answers very well and than give an attempt to the difficult questions.
7.You can refer to various NDA exam prepartion guides and books available in the market for a Great preparation.
8. Have the strategies for solving the Mathematics Problems.
9.Make sure that you practice everyday for your preparations.
10. Have a Good diet;Proper Sleep and Do exercise everyday at least for 20-30mins which will keep your body fit and energetic and will keep calm your mind.

Hereby are the topics of the subjects for NDA exam:-
1. Mathematics- Algebra,Matrices and Determinants,Trigonometry,Analytical Geometry of 2 and 3 dimensions,Probability, Integral Calculus & Different Equations,Vector Algebra and Statistics,
2.The English includes the grammar and the usage of English Vocabulary.
