Electrical Engineering is one of the most fast growing field of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity,electronics and electromagnetism. Communications engineering deals with the development and operations of communications technology which includes telecommunications and computer programming.It is the amalgamation of electrical,electronics and communication,computer engineering etc. There are four well known branches of Electrical Engineering lies in the areas of generating electricity,its transmission and distribution. Today Electrical engineers have become indispensable to the society because of the increasing demand for electrical energy,the development in audio and video communication systems and the automation industry.The main job of electrical engineer is to design and develop more efficient electrical machinery,power systems,and control equipment for the generation ,transmission and distribution of electrical energy and telecommunication.



Nowadays right from home to industry all needs electricity to perform various activities providing tremendous career opportunities in this area in India as well as in other developed countries across the world.

Due to the globalisation concept there has been huge demand for technically qualified engineers giving a rise to keep pace with growing industrial needs. The electrical engineers have a wide scope both in India and Abroad.



Career Prospects in India-

Electrical engineer can work in power plants i.e thermal,hydal or atomic.They also have a good opportunities in small and large public and private sector industries like Railways,Civil Aviation.They can also get into teaching field or can also do research work in laboratories. While one also have a good option in computer technology corporations,manufacturing companies,IT industry,health care equipment manufacturing industry,power generation transmission ,railways ,chemical companies and telephone companies. One can also get into Electricity Board.Companies manufacturing electrical machines and equipment employee engineers for electrical design.One can also get into aircraft,food,pulp and paper,chemical and automobile industries. Along with handling the technical one may also need to handle management side in certain industries.



One can also get into the government sector by cracking Union Public Service Examination(UPSC).



The same career prospects are available in abroad countries.
