Hi Naman,

Law is one of the good career option as by pursuing this one can become a lawyer, advocate, judge, etc. and all these are very highly respected jobs.

You need to pursue LLB course in order to study Law and LLB is available in two kinds which are as discussed below:

  1. It is the LLB course of five years for students opting for the law course after their higher secondary school degree.
  2. It is the LLB course of three years for one who are opting for law courses after their graduation with any discipline.

For pursuing the LLB you need to clear the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) for which you need to fulfil the some criteria i.e.:

  • You must have a higher secondary school degree or an equivalent degree with any discipline from a recognized institute with at least 45% aggregate.
  • Your age must be within 20 years.

You can also visit the official website of CLAT for further details i.e; www.clat.ac.in.

Dear Aspirant,

If you are opting for Law studies after 12th, then a minimum of 45 % is required for admission to your local city colleges. If you are aiming for Top Law Schools then you should have minimum 50-55%.

If you are opting for Law studies after graduation, then also a minimum of 45 % is required for admission to your local city colleges. If you are aiming for Top Law Schools then you should have minimum 50-55%.

Also a piece of advice for future... Ensure that you manage to get atleast 55% in LLB degree for a chance to get into a good job or self practice.

Ensure that you are very much interested in Law and a career in the same for the long term.

Best wishes
