Personal and professional both are just like two sides of same coin as you need to develop the personal aptitude before joining the profession of biologist. After all your basic instinct which motivates you to be biologist must be having a driving force to join the biological study.

Individual persona is the interface of entire professional life for which you will be known and similarly your professional contribution and success will change your personal life.

Initially your personal realization will assist you to understand any professional goal where you will devote your age to contribute something in biology.
There are certain professional skills you need to develop in due course of under graduate and postgraduate studies:

1. Basic study at school level which includes entire subjects like natural science (physics, chemistry, maths, biology), humanities, economics, languages to make you an appropriate candidate for anything what you want including a biologist. Still you are not clear about fundamental aspects then get he books from NCERT and study thoroughly, without your basic you can not build the professional goal it seems to be the most essential part of life.

2. Once you are clear with you basic your interest for any particular subject like you are here for biology which is now quite understood that you have gone through the basics wherin you find yourself the most suitable for biology. Very simple journey of a biologist is very simple and solved the complicated questions in simple manner this is the first professional skill for a biologist.

Dear Aspirant, to be successful in any field the personal and profesopnal skills are very important. The personal skills are also known as interpersonal skills, soft skills, communication skills or peoples skills. The professional skills are the academic background of a person. It also includes the educational background, what you have studied and what degree or diploma you have with you.

A person having high professional skills, means he has been brilliant through out his educational career, cannot be a successful if he lacks personal or interpersonal skills. The main reason for that there is lack of communication.

To explain this more clearly, let me tell you about personal skilss; The interspersonal skills are the life skills which we use daily while interacting with people in groups or individually. People who have worked in developing strong personal skills are more sucessful in personal and professional life.
Now a days employers hire those people who have storong personal skilss, as they want people to work in team and they to to effectovely communicate with the customers, colleagues and seniors. People with good personal skills are percived as calm, cool, optimistic, confident and charishmatic. The common perosnal skills are as follows:

Verbal communication skill; what we say and how we say it
Non verbal communication skill; we do not say a single word, our gesture conveys the meaning
Listening skills; how we interpret the verbal and nonverbal messages sent by others
Negotiation; working with others to find a mutually aggreable solution
Problem solving; working with others to solve a problem
Decision making; exploring and analysing options to make sound decisions

Assertiveness; commnicating our ideas, beliefs, thoughts, opinions, needs and wants freely.

Personal skills are so natural that we never thought how we communicate with others. But with little efforts one can develop strong personal skills.

Professional skills are keeping update oneself related to the subject of the biologist. A biologist is supposed to prepare and deliver latest notes to his students. Provide easy and novel methods to his students to carry out research work. Write good research proposal to funding agency and win it. Finally, be honest, punctual, dedicated, analytical and sincere to ones job.

With best wishes..

Good Luck..
