Its just that you have to get your basics right... first year mbbs is basic human sciences with subjects like anatomy,physiology and biochemistry... it is more of a continuation of your 12th biology... if you can start from scratch and in the first few days after college commences it would be great... also you should read from standard books and authors rather than going for notes...

After completion of Post Graduation (Commerce), you can appear in the UGC NET Exam, you have to select the subject which is similar to your Post Graduation subject, as you completed your Master’s in Commerce then you are eligible to appear in UGC NET Commerce UGC NET Management Maybe you will be eligible to appear in UGC NET Economics.
