Bed Shopping Made Simple

Most people may be reluctant to acknowledge it, but we spend a large proportion of our lives in bedWe generally spend much more time in bed than we do in our cars, but typically the decision about which car to buy is taken very seriously, with lots of research and test drives.

Buying a bed should be no less of a big decision.

When you have the right bed, you are more likely to get a good night’s rest, and this has a number of other benefits for your health and wellbeing throughout the waking hours, not just when you are tucked in for the night.

A good sleep

Sleep is a vital function which we cannot do without.

A good night’s rest is restorative and keeps us bright and focused for the day ahead.

Besides its importance in cognitive function, sleep can help overall health and maintain a strong immune system, as well as helping to maintain good mental health.

Sleep deprivation, on the other hand, can have a number of negative health impacts, and result in illness.  It has even been implicated, in a number of different studies, in a reduced lifespan.

With this in mind, the search for the right bed is a very important matter.

Support

It is important that your bed offers good support for your body while you sleep.

If you are not sleeping on the right type of mattress, it can strain different parts of the body, such as your back, neck, shoulders or hips.

What constitutes the wrong – or right – type of bed depends on a few different things, such as the shape of your body, the position you typically sleep in, and the type of bed in question.

Different types of mattress are typically more comfortable for some people than others, and whether a hard or soft mattress – or something in between – is comfortable for you may be a matter of testing a range of them to see what feels best.

Shopping for a new bed can be complicated exercise.

Many bed retailers have large showrooms full of different models, which can make the choosing the right mattress a complicated experience, where customers have to navigate a wide range of different options, materials and qualities in making a selection.

To test a bed for comfort, it is important to lie on it for a few minutes.  In a huge showroom, there are simply too many beds to test each one properly, without or spending hours doing so, and losing your perspective.

Kerfird take a very different approach to this, by displaying the beds they sell in small showrooms.

Unlike the some of the larger bed retailers, Kerfird only sell the beds that meet their high standards of quality.

Rather than offering a huge of similar types of beds, Kerfird’s range is smaller and much easier to navigate.
