Job of an agricultural scientist is more of research based. They work to find ways to produce agricultural foods safely and in an efficient way. They gather data from the fields, perform calculations and analysis over the data and create reports that is assessed by other researchers. They have a role in developing cost effective ways of production for agricultural products by experimenting, using latest technologies and performing research. In addition, they also look into crop management, farm management, farming techniques, new equipment for farming, animal reproduction and livestock management. The agricultural scientists have different expertise namely:
Animal scientists focus on matters related to reproduction, development, hybrid development, genetics and diseases of farm animals. Food scientists focus on development, technology, nutrition, diseases, produce of crops and other food products. Soil and plant scientists focus on preserving the nutrition of soil, working towards managing the farm and crops, studying the composition of soil and enhancing its texture for the better growth of crops.
Internship is available for the researchers as research assistant where they work with senior researchers and gain experience.
