About Us
Officially known as Government Model Autonomous Holkar Science College, Holkar Science College is a college in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.It was founded on June 10th, 1891 by His Highness Maharajadhiraja Raj Rajeshwar Sawai Shri Sir Shivaji Rao Holkar Bahadur XII, the former monarch of Indore and a member of the Maratha Holkar family. In terms of government autonomous colleges across the nation, the largest government science institute in the state is ranked third by Education World Rankings 2021–22.
The state government of Madhya Pradesh named the Government Holkar Science College, Indore, a in model college the year 1985. The college attained the status of an independent college in 1988.
In 1988, d.a. university granted it the status of an independent college with the approval of the state government and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. in 1994-95 The state government designated it as a center of excellence. The Holkar College campus is situated in East Indore’s South district.
