The motto of the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The Motto Of The Central Board Of Secondary Education

For the academic year 2019-20, the Central Board of Secondary Education has adopted a new motto for better and skillful learning. Their motto is “Learning by doing”.  According to this, the schools have been incorporated arts and sports in their day to day curriculum.  Subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI), yoga, and Python (high-level programming language) which alone are capable of providing jobs are already introduced as optional skill subjects for students. This is to make “learning more joyful.”

Moreover, schools are told to have at least two periods every week dedicated to arts from classes I to XII.  The periods will include all the streams covered under art sections like music, dance, visual arts, theater, and many more.  In addition, the students from Classes VI to VIII will also be able to take the classes on culinary arts, where lessons on nutrition, agriculture, will be taught to students.

strong background in conducting competitive examinations

Strong Background In Conducting Competitive Examinations

The CBSE board earlier used to conduct the AIEEE Examination for admission to undergraduate courses like engineering and architecture across India. However, the AIEEE exam and IIT-JEE were merged in 2013. Since then, AIEEE is formerly known as IIT-JEE Main and is henceforth conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA). It will reduce the burden on the CBSE board hence, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

CBSE also used to conduct AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) which is now conducted as NEET for admission to most of the major medical colleges in India.

CBSE board has served as the backbone of the education system of India.

National Testing Agency (NTA)

National Testing Agency

On 10 November 2017, Union Cabinet chaired by our beloved Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, cleared a proposal for the creation of a National Testing Agency which will conduct various entrance examinations in India like The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the medical aspirant, Central Teacher Eligibility Test (Two times per year) UGC’s National Eligibility Test (two times per year) and the entrance examination for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

This major step was taken to increase the accuracy of the CBSE board. If the board can now focus on class 12th much better without worrying about the JEE(Main) which is usually conducted in between the class 12th board examination.

CBSE follows NCERT Pattern

Cbse Follows Ncert Pattern

CBSE follows standard NCERT books, which are accepted all over India. They follow a customized pattern all across the country.

Importance of NCERT books

Importance Of Ncert Books

NCERT books form the base for almost each and every examination in India including UPSE (NCERT is considered to be the basic and the most important books to start from), IIT-JEE, NEET, etc. If you are from the CBSE board then you may find the pattern of various exams very familiar. NCERT books give you an upper hand in preparing for other competitive exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2020 will not follow the NCERT syllabus

This simply means that the CBSE board will have only the topics prescribed by the board, not all the topics which are covered in the NCERT books for the upcoming CBSE Board exam 2020. CBSE Board has issued an important notification about the syllabus to be followed. The notification tells that the Central Board of Secondary Education will now follow the Syllabus prescribed by the board for upcoming board exams 2020. Now, before going through your NCERT books, make sure to go through the revised syllabus.

CBSE’s introduced a new Grading system

Cbse’s Introduced A New Grading System

CBSE will not follow the CCE system for the year 2018 so the old grading system for evaluation has been replaced. Till last year, the students were getting grades according to the nine-point scale as A1,  A2,  B1,  B2,  C1,  C2,  D,  E1,  E2. These grade points have an interval of 10 marks. Hence students under the category of 91-100 marks were given A1 grades and 81-90 were given A2 grades and so on. But according to the new system of evaluation (Year End Exams), the grading system has been completely altered. Now students don’t get grades according to their marks but they get grades for the comparative performance of all the students who appeared in that particular exam. It’s similar to the percentile system.

Difficulty of examinations

Difficulty Of Examinations

Trends have shown that class 12th question papers especially physics and mathematics have been under the light in terms of difficulty. According to students, papers were difficult, lengthy, and sometimes even both. Not only students but even teachers have supported this argument. They have been continuously seen going beyond NCERT books when it comes to the examinations.

How Cbse Balance The Difficulty Of The Paper?

The officials have reported that the board has started using the Theory Evaluation Trend Analysis (TETRA) software to see the trends of the paper. The software analyses the trends of the marks being obtained by the students in the 2020 board exam across the different regions in India.

This analysis helps the officials to set a paper which will be according to the previous statistics. This helps to raise and decrease the difficulty according to the scorecard of the students based on previous trends.
