On March 21, the Indian Institute of Technology, Guhawati revealed the JAM 2023 result online at joaps.iitg.ac.in, the official website of IIT Jam 2023. Candidates who took the IIT JAM entrance test can get their IIT JAM 2023 results using their login credentials. About

JAM stands for Joint Admission test for Masters. It is the common admission test for admission into M.Sc.(Master of Science) and other postgraduate science programs at IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), IISc (Indian Institute of Science) and NITs (National Institutes of Technology). It is held annually by alternating institutes. JAM has been held since 2004. The Indian Institute of Science organized the 2021 edition. The 2022 edition was held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IOT) Roorkee. The organising institute of JAM 2023 is IIT Guwahati. The organizing institute of JAM 2024 is IIT Madras.

The examination is a computer-based test (CBT). The papers are divided into seven categories: mathematics, physics, chemistry, mathematical statistics, geology, biotechnology, and economics. Biological science was phased out in 2020, while economics was added in 2021. The exam lasts three hours and is solely given in English. It has the following 60 questions: 30 multiple choice questions (MCQ – 10 one-mark questions and 20 two-mark questions), 10 multiple select questions (MSQ), and 20 numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The total number of points is 100, with 50 for MCQ, 20 for MSQ, and 30 for NAT. Negative scores are deducted for incorrect answers in the MCQ section.

The IIT merit list 2023 will be compiled using the IIT JAM 2023 results. JAM Passing Criteria

A bachelor’s degree is required as of 2022 to be eligible for JAM. There are no percentage requirements to apply for the exam. Foreign candidates may also apply for the JAM Exam if they hold a qualifying degree and meet the Admitting Institute’s Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs). The IIT JAM exam has no minimum qualifying mark. The higher the score, however, the better the chances of admission to the targeted program.

To check your IIT JAM result online, you can follow these steps:

Counselling

The IIT Joint Admission Magistracy (IIT JAM) counselling process is where candidates who have cleared the IIT Joint Admission Matriculation (IITJAM) exam are invited to apply for admission to the M.Sc., M.Sc., and other M.Sc. programs at the IITs, IISc, and other centrally funded institutes. This counselling process is divided into two phases: “Seat Allotment” (SA) and “Choice Based Counselling” (CBC). Seat allocation in Phase 1 is based on the candidate’s IIT Joint Admission Master (JAM) score and the number of seats available in the various programs. Candidates are ranked according to their JAM score in descending order. “CBC” (Choice Based Counselling) Candidates who have not received a seat under Phase 1 can take part in the CBC process. The CBC process allows them to select their preferred program and institute. Candidates are allotted seats according to their choices and availability.

Cut-Off

The cut-off points differ from year to year and from program to program. However, the cut-off grades for mathematics are normally about 70%, 65% for physics, and 60% for chemistry.
