The two fields Engineering and commerce are two different streams and cannot be interlinked.


As an engineer, you need to know the basics of manufacturing, which requires you to know proximity and application concepts, as well as machines, the speed at which it works, the circuit and many more science related concepts.
Whereas commerce is more related to finances and managing the finances of self or the organization.

Thus study for both the streams are different.
For engineering, one needs science background to relate to machines, its functions and its applications.
To get into accounts or banking, one needs to study the basics of finance which is possible only through commerce.

But if automobiles is your passion, then you could look out for an automobile designing course. Since everything right from the way the car functions to its mechanics etc depends on the cars models. So designing plays an important role.

For designing, you need to be very very creative, good at visualizing, being innovative and must be able to be better than the others in your team and must be able to defend your product.
Now again you have two options:
  • Study Designing, a 4 years under graduate course. This course can be done by any 12th stream student. One needs to clear the aptitude tests, which checks students skills related to visuals, analytic ability, being creative and innovative and most importantly the best design in a short period of time.
  • Another option available, which is not the approved route or much demanded route is, a course from DYPDC.

Choice is yours.

If manufacturing and applications is your passion, then you would have to put in a little bit of extra efforts and get into the science stream and then post 12th clear the engineering entrance exam and then opt either for a B.E / B.tech course.
Or else if finances comes easy to you, or rather you have a good eye for numbers, commerce is a good option.
But along with commerce, you can still fulfill your dreams for automobiles, by doing a certificate course in designing from DYPDC.

Choose wisely. Make a confirmed choice.

ligibility for pursuing Automotive Engineering as a field of study does not necessarily depend on one's prior academic background in Commerce
