Medical Microbiologists: study the role played by micro-organisms in inflicting diseases in humans and animals. They research these organisms to find various ways to cure, prevent and occurrence of these diseases.
Industrial Microbiologists:work with industries manufacturing products like antibiotics, amino acids, beverages etc.
Marine Microbiologists:deals with the micro-organisms present in the ocean.
Agricultural Microbiologists: study plant diseases, the role of microorganisms in soil fertility and damage of farm products.
Sales or technical representative.These people provide information about pharmaceuticals and other medical or scientific products to prospective customers

One can join food manufacturing units such as Nestle, Cadbury, Dabur etc as food technologist
