BCA is a course offering very good opportunities. The beginning salary of a BCA graduate is 2.5 lacs – 3 lacs per annum. But the salary of BCA graduate increases rapidly with the increase in one's skills and experience. The salary of a highly skilled and experienced computer operator or programmer even crosses 7 lacs or 8 lacs per annum.

Who can apply?

The primary requirement to get admission in BCA in most of the colleges/universities is that the student should have got a minimum aggregate of 45% or 50% marks(whichever is specified by the college or university) in his/her Higher Secondary Examination. Some colleges require the student to have studied and passed in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th. But generally, a student having studied and passed in Mathematics as a subject in class 12th is eligible for admission into BCA.

Some colleges/universities give options for the student having studied Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Practices. For BCA, Higher Secondary Examination marks do not always form the criteria for admission. Some colleges/universities do not consider Higher Secondary Examination marks for admission. They conduct an entrance based examination. One has to clear that entrance exam for getting admission into BCA in those colleges/universities. Sometimes, the students after clearing the entrance exam are also required to clear other stages, if any, like personal interview, group discussion etc.
