Dear Friend

I am impressed with your question which is very critical to answer in short. We need to see the past, present and future of Indo-US socioeconomic conditions, Geographical distribution, Brain-drain on bilateral issue, Populations, Agri-business, Agri based revenue, Co-lateral damage due to diplomatic reasons, graph of technological advancement of both countries, Supply of Manpower and attainment, Biological warfare trial either in India or USA (usa prefers the trial mechanism in underdeveloped and developing country as per hidden sources).

I have given the reasons or you can say factors behind any national interest behindof employability, as far as biological employbility is concerned all these factors are associated directly or indirectly.

At present India and China are the best manpower supply to USA and eventually we blame the govt policy regarding the retaining of degree holder within India. Only getting a job is not the answer of such overpopulated problems rather how a professional is being facilitated that does matter which is also one of the reasons behind the present situation.
Why I am counting present clicks as you have asked about future? It was necessary becoz present becomes future and tomorrow never comes. India is huge market for all types of commodities including biological, yes we do have epidemics, food-cloth-shelter scarcity, malnutrition problem, need of clinical updates, agricultural which a vital source of revenue and employment as compare to rest of the world. Then we definitely have the scopes for everything including jobs We Indian still thinking about jobs which is a symptomatic which indicates bankruptcy in all the sense.

Biology is a never ending goal it will sustain forever as long as nature allows. Though an individual talks biology for a job then it indicates alarming situation to come in coming days. Why I should bother about job if I am already in a job studying a subject is not a job, giving lesson is not job it is just a matter of our observation and interpretation everything can be converted into currency. We are being dependent on such analyzers and intelligent people by showing our submissiveness that I do not have an idea to make money or to generate revenue. Why it sis so because we are indulge in such exercise and our skills are being arrested in due course of getting others ideas.

I hope my individualist approach will answer your query and will be helpful for nation also.

Good luck

Dear Aspirant, you have asked the scope, does it mean the job opportunities of money potentioal. A biologist in India could be a botanist, zoologist, microbiologist, biotechnologist, biochemist, pharmacologist, environmental scientist or biomedical engineer / scientist. The scope of biolgist in India is both in government sector (universities, institutes, colleges, school) as well as in multinational companies and private organization (companies, private universities).

It depends upon your interst where do you wish to work, if you wish to work in government organization, then your entry point will be as lecturer, Assistant Professor or Assistant Scientist. Practically speaking there are still large job opportunities in India in government sector. If a person is having good acdemic record then he or she can make a place in government sector.

In private universities such as Amity, LPU, and many more, there are lot of job opportunities as teacher and researcher. Here growth rate is very fast compared to government sector. In government sector there is time bound promotion, but in private universities of private companies, there is performance based promotion.

As a biologist you may work as scientist, researcher, manager or technical person in multinational companies or private companies. Here definitely job opportunities are more compared to government sector. If selected in these companies, the salary is also more compared to goernment sector.

Regarding job opportunities in USA and other western countries, obviously the job opportunities are also more compared to India. But the competition is severe. In USA and other western universities you have to have a post doctoral fellowship (PDF degree ) after doctoral degree. Here you may also diversify your field. If you are working on molecular biology then you may change your field and work on animals, humans.

Compared to Indian scenario, the salary structure is better but the saving potential depends upon country to country and palce to place. A biologist can also work in USA in private sector. He may work in the technical field (his subject matter) or he may work as a non technical person.

In nut shell, a biology has lot of scope both in India and abroad. I have encountered many persons, who did their PhD from India and went to America for PDF. There they worked for 5-6 years and finally came back to India for permanent job settlement.

Hope I have answered your query.
