Thanks Rahul for posting your query at www.careerguide.com!
Before I answer your query, I have few reflective questions.
What is your specialization? What made you think entering into Management after graduation?
Career after EngineeringJob: Based on your specialization, you can work in relevant industry.
Higher study: You may opt for ME/MTech after graduation. Post-graduation is always helpful for creating more career opportunities.
Government job: You may appear for competitive exams as per your specialization and get into Government's jobs.
Academics: You may to post-graduation and get into University/college as a teacher (assistant professor). You may do PhD while working as a teacher.
Entrepreneurship: You may start own coaching institute or own enterprises in the area of your interest. You can start consulting services.
For specific career scope, I need to know your specialization.
Admission criteria to IMMs or good management institutes
Admission criteria for IMMs or good institutes are CAT or MAT or other entrance test scores, performance in group discussion or interview. Minimum requirement to appear for CAT/MAT or other competitive exams is 55% in any graduation course.
Past academic records do not influence however, consistent academic record always work as a positive point.
There are many coaching institutes offer mock tests before CAT. You may find out such coaching institutes near your area and find out more details about it.
Hope this is useful. If you still have querries, feel free to write to us.
Best Wishes for Bright Career!Apurva Kumar Pandya, PhD
Dear Aspirant,
I have the same questions like Dr. Pandya.
Really wondering why engineers feel to go for MBA after Engineering? Please understand that MBA immediately after Engineering will land you in a job not related to engineering.
IF you wish to remain in the technical field, then an MBA will help only after gaining 5 years of work experience.
Best wishes
To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.You can then call counsellors to discuss.
Best wishes!
