Electronics & instrumentation engineering is a specialized branch of electrical and electronics engineering , which focuses on the principle and operation of measuring instruments, process control which are used in design and configuration of automated systems. These engineers work for industries with automated processes such as chemical or manufacturing plants with the goal of improving system productivity , reliability , safety , optimization and stability. Instrumentation engineers help in the designing , construction and maintenance of instruments and entire instrumentation systems of an industrial undertakings. They work as manufacturing engineers in multi national companies like Sony, LG, Samsung. They also can work as research and development specialist for public and private enterprises . They can also render their services to companies like thermal power stations, steel plants, refineries and cement and fertilizer plants both in government and private sectors like national fertilizers limited, bharat heavy electrical ltd, Honeywell, Samsung, Indian oil corporation limited and steel authorities of India limited. They have a multidisciplinary role to play. One may choose to move sideways into other careers areas either within or outside their country. This might include areas such as sales , marketing , finance, hr , it or general management
