Hi Rohit,

Interesting question asked.

As far as CPA is concerned, certified Public Accountancy can be considered the highest qualifications in the accounts field.
To excel in this field, one needs to be well versed with accountancy and preferably having work experience in the financial sector especially accounts and audit

As far as pursuing this course is concerned, a little research points out to the fact that this course is almost or rather in par with CA course available in India.
Another fact is that to pursue this course, you would have to pursue it in the USA.
Though the course would be done in say 2 weeks, but the costs incurred to pursue it from states would be equivalent to you doing a 3 years CA course from India itself.
Though the choice is yours.

As far as the job role or profile is concerned, CPAs help individuals, businesses, government firms etc remain financially secure by keeping accurate acccountancy records, assisting with tax preparation and helps in filling documents needed. They add value to their clients by helping them with their financial concerns, tax plans n alignment with company goals to make profit and save taxes and provides investment advise.

As a counselor I would advise you to g ahead and pursue a CA course, since it is more recognised by the Indian markets

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck

Are there Job opportunities after completing CPA in india:
Once you finish CPA programme, you are eligible for membership in CPA Council. There is a scope of CPA sectors such as Banking, Accounting, Auditing services, Invt. banking, Business analysis and valuation, Financial analyst, capital markets, BPO's and much more.

Minimum and maximum income after becoming CPA
CPA receive salary equivalent to CA. If candidates have post-graduation or CA, may get more than what CAs receive. It is tough to draw average salary. However, just for your satisfaction, I am sharing average INR 3 lacs to 8 lacs.

CPA from USA
CPA is highest accounting credential in USA which is equivalent to CA in India. In order to become a CPA in the United States, the candidate must sit for and pass the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination (Uniform CPA Exam), which is set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and administered by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Qualification to become eligible for CPA course:
Eligibility for CPA vary from States to States in USA. However, basic eligibility is graduation (four years). As Indian Education has three years graduation, post-graduation can be helpful to make eligibility for CPA exam. Few States expects candidates to have 2 years of work experience or other credentials. Therefore, please check respective States where do you want to appear for exam.

Exam centres:
According to my experience, Indian students prefer Delaware, New York, Colorado, California, Illinois, New Hampshire and Michigan for exams.

Duration of the CPA course:
On an average it takes 9 months to 13 months to complete CPA. While interacting with students, I have realized that CPA is easier to clear than CA. CA is tough.

Fees for the course:
Approximate Fee Structure is given below :-
CPA examination and application fees: $1,000
CPA Exam review course fee (mid range): $1,700
CPA Ethics Exam: $130 (rounded up figure)
Licensing fees (mid range): $150

Average fees can be around $2,980

I request you to check with respective State where you want to appear for the exam.

Syllabus
There are four sections to the CPA Exam:
Auditing and Attestation is 4 hours,
Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) is 4 hours,
Regulation is 3 hours, and
Business Environment and Concepts is 3 hours.

Are there Job opportunities after completing CPA in india:
Apart from what is mentioned earlier, CPA get easily absorbed in USA based companies.

Minimum and maximum income after becoming CPA
Same as mentioned earlier

Coaching for CPA:
There are many USA based coaching institutes who have opened branch in India. Few of its name are as follow:
Beckers
Miles CPA review

Hi Rohit,
I have not answered in details like the other counselor, Apurvajee.
But all details have been mentioned leaving apart the syllabus question you asked for.

The reason for a short description was because this course is mainly pursued by stuents from USA and is recognised there only.
In India CA is the most preferred option.

Wish you good luck...
