Advertising offers work opportunities in both executive or creative side. The nature of work depends upon the department one is in.Executive Department- Executive departments coordinates each and everything related to a client's advertising campaign. TThey have to undetstand all aspects of the client's business , plan the advertising campaign, coordinate work on the campaign with the client and the various specialisits working on the advertising campaign. They are responsible for allocation of funds to the various media, for keeping within agreed budget and for producing detailed progress reports. They work with an advertising team consisting of creative directors, art directors , copywriters, researchers and production workers. Market reearch is carrried out before planning a campaign with a view to explore possible markets for the product. Market resaerchers are mainly concerned with the potential sales of a product or service. They analyze statistical data on past sales to predict future sales, and provide a company management with information required to make decision related to promotion, distribution, design and pricing of products or services. Media executives study newspaper circulation statistics, television audience figures, statistics on income groups, buying habits etc. They gather information on public viewing and reading habits and evaluate editorial content and programming to determine the potential use of media such as newspapers, magazines,radio television or the internet. On the basi of research they recommenbd the media by which advertisement is most likelt to reach the maximum number of potential buyers.Creative Department - Creative department is mainly cxonsist of copywriters, visualizers, scriptwriters, storyboard artist etc.They are mainly responsible for conceptualization and creation of advertisement material from print ads to billboards to televisio and radio commercials, Copywriters in specifi expected to create aadvertising message. ON the basis of facts and guidelines given by the research department and by the client copywriters comes up with the words, the slogan, the jingles or the text that appear on advertisements. Scriptwriters mainly write TV and radio commjercials and advertising films. Like copywriters, the job of scriptwriter involves developing their ideas in terms of visual and sound possibilities. Visualizers are responsible for giving graphic interpretation to campaign.
