Introduction:

Assam Women’s University is a public university located in Jhorhat, Assam India. Assam women’s university (AWU), established in 2013, is a public women’s university that provides courses at the UG, PG, and Diploma levels to eligible candidates. created by the Assam women’s university Act, 2013, the institute was the first-ever women’s college to be set up in Assam and also has been recognized by the UGC. the various courses offered at the UG level include BA and BPT, with a duration of three years. for PG programs, the college offers an MA with eight specializations, M.SC. in Fashion Design and Technology, MCA, MBA, MTTM, as well as an MLIS course 

Admission to all the UG as well as the courses are made based on an entrance test conducted by the university itself. For the MBA and MA programs, a group discussion and a personal interview are taken in addition to the written test conducted for admissions. Apart from this, the university also provides diploma courses in Computer Applications, Fashion Integration Apparel, and Jewellery Design. Lastly, the institute provides many different facilities for the well-being of its students.

 The Central Library of Assam Women’s University became set up in 2014, at the time of the establishment of the university. The Central Library is positioned centrally some 10m from the university’s main gate. the library has 3848 copies of textual content and reference books protecting an extensive variety of subjects

The library subscribes to a few everyday newspapers. the library additionally has a group of CDs and DVDs. it additionally has an awesome series of Encyclopedias and Dictionaries. The university is likewise a member of the National Digital Library Consortium.
