How To Check FMGE Result 2023

The FMGE Result 2023 will be released on the official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for FMGE:

  • Citizenship: Foreign medical graduates who are citizens of India or Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) are eligible to appear for the FMGE.
  • Qualification: Candidates must have a primary medical qualification from a medical school outside India that is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

FMGE Application Form 2023

The FMGE 2023 application form is no longer available. The last date to apply for the FMGE 2023 was June 20, 2023. The exam was held on July 30, 2023. The result for the FMGE 2023 will be announced on August 30, 2023.

FMGE Exam Pattern

Here is the exam pattern for FMGE 2023:

  • Mode: The FMGE is a computer-based test (CBT).
  • Duration: The FMGE is a 6-hour exam, with a break of 15 minutes after 3 hours.
  • Questions: There are 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the FMGE.
  • Marking scheme: Each MCQ is worth 1 mark. There is no negative marking.
  • Pass mark: The pass mark for the FMGE is 50%.

200 questions make up Section 1 of the exam, and 100 questions make up Section 2. the clinical sciences are covered in Section 2, while Section 1 deals with the fundamental medical sciences. Various levels of difficulty can be found in the FMGE questions. Most of the questions are of a moderate complexity, although a few are very easy, a few are quite difficult, and a few are in between.

Students who fail to clear FMGE can choose to reappear for the exam with better preparation or opt to study post-graduation courses such as MS/MD in other countries such as the UK where FMGE is not required.

The highest marks in FMGE are 251. This was the highest recorded score in 2022. In 2020, the highest recorded score was 244 out of 300.

A total of 24,250 candidates registered for the exam out of which 2474 students passed, 21,180 students failed to clear the exam, the results of 116 students have been withheld and the remaining 480 have failed the exam.

NExT exam will replace NEET PG and FMGE and also serve as a licensing exam at the end of MBBS.
