An interesting question.

And I am sure you know the answer to it too.

These days, MBA or a management degree is in league.
Companies too are stressing for a candidate with a Management degree, whether experienced or not.

Anyways, Companies especially the premium ones, who value their areas of expertise and wish to keep their reputation at stake. These companies hire, mainly on the basis of:
  • Reputation value of the College
  • Candidates experience in terms of being innovative and creative.
You may be the top scorer in your batch and can be screened for the top notch company for an interview, but apart from your score sheet, they would be looking out for the innovative and fresh ideas and the analytic ability and their ability to deal with stress.
Mainly they are able to gauge these thorough a one to one conversation, secondly situational based, whereby they talk about a situation and ask you for the output or solution and lastly through the projects you have undertaken.

As far as a 1 year and 2 years program are concerned.

You got to check, the course outline in details.
  • Firstly, the name and recognition of the college is important
  • Secondly whether the 1 year program is industrial oriented, meaning stresses more on exposure to industrial applications and not just theoretical
Hope this answers your query.

Wish you good luck.............
