Dear aspirants, I would like to congratulate you because you came on right platform for right guidance. As per your question you have already completed your Masters in Commerce and you are trying to clear Company Secretary exam.As you mentioned that you are confused about what to do next? There are various options before you after Masters in commerce but before opting options, you must consider your own Interest. As you are trying to clear entrance exam of company secretary is good option, you can continue but you have already Masters in commerce, so you think about Job. When you will have job in your hand, you will feel less pressurized and will be able to concentrate more on your study and you will also get some experience.

If you have interest in teaching and you have good academic record, you can go for teaching commerce. if you teach commerce, you will earn money, you will earn experience and you will have good command over commerce subject and you can clear any entrance exam, which is related to commerce. If you go for this, you can do many professional work like Company Secretary course or charted accountant course or MBA in finance along with teaching and you can grow step by step. you also can grow in teaching area like clearing UGC NET and do Phd in commerce and join higher education. Beside teaching, you can work in any organisation as an accountant and along with your job you can continue your study and you can do some professional work like CS,CA and MBA.

Good Luck

Hello My Dear Aspirant,

My colleague Mr. Ashwani Mohan has rightly adviced you, however I would like to advice some more points to you. I am glad that you decided to approach CareerGuide at the right time and now I can assure you that you will get confident and feel tension free.

You say that you have not been able to clear the Company Secretary executive level even after appearing for the fourth time and now you are feeling that whether you should leave it or continue appearing till you pass.

My Dear Student, do not take such failures as something which is the end of the career or life. I know a person from Pune who had appeared for Company Secretary Final Examinations for THIRTEEN times and in the Fourteenth attempt he passed successfully. Now appearing for thirteen times really needs great amount of patience and guts to continue doing and appearing for the same exam papers. Now you only tell me what that person would be feeling while appearing for continuous attempts and getting failed.

Exams like Company Secretary, Chartered Accountancy, Cost accountancy also have a small amount of 'luck' factor in it however it is not complete luck and also it does not mean that all those who pass in first or second attempt are more lucky than you. It just happens.

However I advice you to really and honestly check with your self only whether you are really preparing and practising for the exam to the amount and time one should do? Are you taking short cuts, are you skipping some chapters, are you becoming selective, are you getting distracted and that makes you lose concentration? Answering all these questions are required to be answered by you to your self only first. Answering these will give you some hints.

I would suggest you to continue your attempts and now this time you should study more and with more concetration. Take help of your fellow course friends and take some guidance on how to study from your faculties. This will help you a lot.

I would surely like to see you become a Company Secretary in near future...

All the Best...

Hello Dear Aspirant,
Welcome to career guide.com
Thanks for approaching us and writing us your career query.

Congratulations for completing your M.Com.

Well its bad to hear after 4 attempts still you have been not able to crack the CS executive exam.

I have some question for you which i wish you to reflect back-
1.Why you choose CS?
2.Did you had an interest in learning CS course and making your career in this field?
3.DO you like to study the corporate civil laws?
If you have interest in studying the CS ;i would advice you to give a reattempt for CS executive exam develop the strategies for cracking the exam. Go through the previous years exam papers and jolt down the IMP's and solve them. prepare a proper schedule of the studies. Look at which subjects you are good at and which subjects are bad for you according to that start preparing for the exams.

If in case you have no interest in studying CS anymore you can look out where your interest lies and according to that you can opt furthermore like if you have an interest in Accounts than you have an option of making a career in CA,CFP or MBA Finance. If you have an interest in making your career in Banking Sector you can go with IBPS Bank PO exam . While if you have any other interest you can get in touch again to get the further information about the same where you have interest.

Give a thought silently and than decide what you wish to do.

I hope you find this information relevant to your career query.

Feel Free to get in touch again.

Wish You Good Luck

Thank You

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh Kapote

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for writing your query at www.careerguide.com!

Well, you have completed MCom, appeared for CS exam but could not clear it and now you are confused about the future.

Your four attempts signify that you want to be CS but at this point of time you seem to be disappointed with failures. At this point of time, doing another course would be risky. Please note that you are in right direction of your career and complete the CS. As suggested by Dr. Anand. I would recommend you to appear for CS exam till you clarify it. Attempts don't matter, matter is your hard work, patience, and passion.

Focus on CS preparation. You may use online free resources on CS. If needed, can take coaching.

If you need some help for preparation for CS, feel free to ask. Career experts here will be happy to guide you with the tips for the preparation.

Wish you best wishes for your bright future as CS,

Apurva Kumar Pandya, PhD
