Confusion in selecting MBA specialization

I have done my B.E. in Information Technology with first class from Pune University. I have a work experience of about 21 months as a software engineer. But somehow I'm not very fond of computer programming. MBA was the obvious option for PG. I have given all the management entrance tests and hope to get through a decent college(in India) ranked within top 30

Dear Aspirant,

Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.

Better late than never that you realised that IT was not your domain. You have got a job is actually luck for you. Sad that inspite of being a first class holder in BE and having work experience, you have suddenly realised that computers is not your field.

MBA would be an option obviously, but remember that once you do your MBA, your graduate qualification would not be counted by the employer. So think twice taking this into consideration.

Its very good to see that you are aiming top colleges. However I would suggest that you should get through the Top 10 B-Schools in India for a better career.

Choosing MBA specialisation would definitely be crucial for you now since after MBA you will not afford to change decisions and career track.

Finance, HR, Marketing, International Business, Operations are the specialisations available.

To decide which can is suited to your capability and interests, I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which stream is good for you.
