Hi Tanvi,
Distance Learning is where you don't need to attend the classes on a daily basis. But instead you have to attend for the classes only on Saturdays or Sundays and within that one or two days in a week, you will be imparted subject knowledge. You have to prepare yourself for the respective syllabus for various subjects which are under your chosen course and have to get through final examinations.
In contrast to this, in case of Regular Learning, the candidate has to attend the classes on a daily basis in which he/she has joined to pursue a particular course. In regular learning there are number of benefits for the candidates.
As there is direct interaction with the candidate and can discuss various points the classmates and they too can share their ideas. So, Collective work is being generated and good subject knowledge is being attained by the candidate. You did not mention the course which you want to join. It’s always better to join any course in Regular Learning than Distance Learning but for working professionals Distance Learning is the right choice.
Dear Aspirant,
Nice question and this question should be asked by students and parents.
There is a misconception that degree or a diploma, done through distance or regular is one and the same. Since distance learning costs less than regular learning, it is being preferred. But the real trouble comes at a later stage when things cannot be reversed.
Distance learning has been increasing in India however, should not be chosen as a substitute over regular course learning. Its like doing a work from home job instead of a regular job at an office.
Distance learning is accepted by companies if you have ben working while getting educated and not other wise.
Best wishes
Distance learning is when students study from home or any other place, instead of going to a physical classroom. Classes are usually conducted online through videos, live sessions, or recorded lectures. This setup is very flexible, allowing students to learn at their own pace and schedule, which is especially helpful for working individuals or those with other responsibilities. However, it requires a lot of self-motivation since you're mostly studying alone. There’s limited interaction with teachers and classmates, and most of the communication happens through email, chats, or video calls.
Regular learning, on the other hand, happens in a traditional classroom where students attend school or college in person. It offers a more structured environment with fixed class timings and a daily routine. Students get to interact directly with teachers and peers, ask questions on the spot, and take part in group discussions or activities. This kind of setup helps build discipline, focus, and social skills. For many, being physically present in a learning space makes it easier to concentrate and stay engaged.
In the end, both have their own pros and cons. Distance Learning/ gives you flexibility and freedom, while regular learning offers a more hands-on, interactive experience. The right choice really depends on what works best for your lifestyle and learning habits.
