The typical day of an Electrical and Electronics Engineer can be summarized as below:

  • The work depends on which sector your are working on. As an Electrical and Electronics Engineer you can go to Electrical or power sector, or you can go on to join the core electronics manufacturing sector. The work responsibilities and day to day life varies accordingly.
  • Engineers specializing in electric power often are involved with thecreation of electricity at power generation stations.

  • Engineers specializing in electronics deal witha variety of equipment including radar, telephone systems, and missile guidance systems.


  • In either specialization, the Electrical and Electronics Engineers have to work with variety of jobs every day. They have to work on the design part, measurement of instruments and installation of the equipments.
  • A lot of times, specially if you are experienced you will have to manage a team, you will have to lead the team, assign tasks to them and ensuring the right progress of the project.
  • Sometimes Electrical and Electronics Engineers also work in universities and laboratories. In that case, they have to study a lot and do their research.


  • They work on different tools and technologies to design and solve the complex problems.
  • They have to communicate regularly with the team members and pass on the important information through emails, phone calls or in person, every day.
