Hello there

Thank you very much for contacting counsellors at Meracareerguide and i appreciate your interest into marketing. I am happy to solve your query today. Before we go into the topic please allow me to introduce myself. I myself Gomathi is the Managing director of GV Consulting group based in Bangalore. I am into this counselling industry so far since 23 years and i counsel everyone in need of education choice and career advice. So now lets get into the topic.

Marketing management has changed into a great shape from past decade to now. Earlier sales was also considered as marketing but now sales is considered a different department and marketing management is considered a different department. Marketing management itself is split into many internal areas which was non existent in past decade.

as i said earlier, marketing management is now longer associated with sales in the present world. Marketing management is split into market analyst, industry analyst, consumer analyst, consumer behavior, and so on. As we all know, marketing is selling the companys products in the desired sector. There are companies still who folow this traditional system of identifying the correct market and selling their items. BUt it is actually developed more than that these days.

Market analyst is a new division evolved in the area of marketing, They analyse what actually a market wants, what type of items are already sold in the market, how are the items being sold, what is the price sold on the items, what is the competition in the market, what is the competitors price? A market analyst will study all these as a part of his role here.

Industry analyst is similar to marketing analyst but an industry analyst studies on a broad sphere on all the markets his industry is involved into.

Consumer analyst is also a new division and the analysts study what type of consumers always approach or seen in his market where his products are sold. They also study which sets of group, whether children adult or mature or old show interest in their product.

Consumer behavior: they study what attracts consumer to buy their product, that is what motivates and demotivates a customer in buying a product.

This is how marketing management is evolved and it is no longer sticked to sales but these days it also involves psychology
