Dear Friend ,

In India the incorporation of the public sector Air India in 1948 and Indian Airlines in 1953 heralded the new age of commercial aviation . Since then as the naion`s air route have opened up and multiplied , and a growing number of newer aircraft purchased , the demand for commercial pilots - the magnificent men an women who fly these wonder machines --- has been rising steadily.

Flying clubs or schools provide practical training for asapiring commercial pilots who are obliged to acquire a commercial pilot licence ( CPL) which is awarded to those who acquire flight experience over a wide range of aircraft with specified experience of solo , cross country , instruments, night flying and certain number of take-offs and landings etc.

Unless a pilot passes the ground subjects and has completed 250 hours of flying as per the syllabus, he/she can not be issued a licence . It usually takes 18 months to complete 250 hours.

The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi ( IGRUA) , Rae Bareli is the premier flying school in the country and is adminitered by the Union ministry of Civil aviation .

Candidates who have passed the Plus two exam with physics and maths and have a current Indian PPL with flying experience of at least 60 hours , including 30 hours of solo flying , in the last three years are eligible for admission into IGRUA. There is no age limit.

A commercial pilots career i challenging , well- compensated and exciting.. At the moment there is a huge demand of for pilots with many new private airlines crowding the skies. By one count , the airline industry will need around 15,000 pilots by 2020.

So dont get confused. Never mind yesterday, never mind tomorrow , do todays work today.

Best of luck ...

Dear Sharvi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Being a pilot is one of the finest, toughest and best careers across the globe. Many people are uncertain about the procedure to become an airline pilot and about the various career options as a pilot. Pilots are highly trained and skilled professionals. They can fly various aircraft and helicopters. Flying does not require much physical effort but the mental stress of being responsible for a safe flight of an aircraft full of passengers in all kinds of weather can be demanding. Before take-off the pilot must prepare a flight plan, study the weather, make sure that the aircraft is airworthy, check that the cargo and fuel are safely loaded and work out estimated arrival time. Pilots can work as few a 8 days in a month, to as many as 20. While pilots at a major airline might work 14 days in a month, you must keep in mind that they are not coming home from work on those 14 days. Pilot need to be physical and mentally fit and have good eye sight and color vision. Every year, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct pilot license examination in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Patna, Guwahati, Bhopal, IGRUA, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Bangalore, & Kochi. If anyone is interfered to join for Indian Air Force (IAF), they need to clear the NDA examination.
