An IAS (Indian Administrative Service) is a government service which is marked as a category 'A' government service which is a highly and a respected government service. So definitely you need to prepare for it at the very early stage ie. during your graduation. The work of the IAS is to look after the smooth functioning of the law and order without any hindrance. Many students are fascinated to have their career in this field. The jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem.Every year lakhs of students from each corner of India apply for admission for IAS.



IAS is not an easy task ,you have to earn IAS. An IAS exam is conducted by UPSC i.e Union Public Service Commission every year. As per the UPSC norms,the IAS Exam in 2015 is going to be a paper-pen based .



You need to fulfill the following things in order to apply for the exam.



IAS 2015 Eligbility:-

1. Graduation degree from any stream from a recognised university from India.

2. Applicants appearing for the final year of their graduation can also apply for the examination in 2015.

3.Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply.

4.Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but yet to complete internship can also apply for the Prelim exam.

5.The candidate must have completed 21 years of age.The upper age limit is 29 years for SC/ST candidates,28 years for OBC and 26 for unreserved category.



IAS Registeration:-



1.There are two modes for applying to this examination i.e Online and Offline.



2. If you are applying offline then you need to download the application form from UPSC official website :- www.upsconline.nic.in.

3.The form consists of two stages viz. registeration part I and part II.

4. After submitting your personal details you need to print the SBI Bank Challan and have to do the payment of application fee to nearby SBI branch.

5.For offline mode the complete application is to be sent to the mentioned address before the last date for form submission.



The Exam date for 2015 for IAS are as follows:-

Civil Services Prelim Exam 2015 :- 23/08/2015 (Sunday)

Civil Service Main Exam 2015:- 18/12/2015(Friday)




The CSE Exam consists of three phases:-



1.CSAT (Prelim Exam)

2. Civil Services Main Exam

3. IAS Interview

PAPER PATTERN:-



Prelim Exam Pattern :



The Examination comprises of compulsory two papers of 200 marks each.



1. Bot the papers are objective type (multliple choice questions).

2.The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.However,questions relating to English Language Comprehension of Class X level will be tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi Translation therof in th equestion paper.



Each paper will have two hours duration.





IAS MAIN EXAM PAPER PATTERN:



Qualifyin Papers-

Paper A-
Any one Indian language paper to be selected by the candidate as mentioned in 8th Schedule of the Constitution)- 300 Marks.

Paper B- English-300 Marks



Papers considered for Merit



Paper I- Essay -250 Marks



Paper II- General Studies I- 250 Marks(Indian Heritage and Culture,History and Geography of the World and Society)



Paper III- General Studies II- 250 Marks (Governance,Constituion,Polity,Social Justice and International relations)



Paper IV- General Studies III- 250 Marks (Technology,Economic Development,Bio-diversity,Environment,Security and Disaster Management)



Paper V- General Studies IV- 250 Marks (Ethics,Integrity and Aptitude)



Paper VI- Optional Subject- Paper 1- 250 marks



Paper VII-Optional Subject Paper 2- 250 marks



Sub Total (Written Test)-1750 Marks



IAS Interview(Personal Interview) - 275 Marks



Grand Total- 2025 Marks




A candidate may choose any one of the optional subject from the following for Main Examination-

Agriculture,Anthroplogy,Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science,Botany,Chemistry,Civil Engineering,Comerce and Accountancy,Economics,Electrical Engineering,Geography,Geology,History,Law,Management,Mathematics,Mechanical Engineering,Medical Science,Philosophy,Psychology,Public Administration,Sociology,Statistics,Public Administration,Zoology,Literature of any of the following languages :-



Assamese,Bengali,Bodo,Dogri,Gujarthi,Hindi,Kannada,kashmiri,Konkani,Maithali,Malayalam,Marathi,Nepali,Oriya,Punjabi,Sanskrit,Santhali,Sindhi,Tamil,Telugu,Urdu and English.



Each Paper will be of 3 hours.



The question papers will be in Hindia and English other than Language Papers.
